Discontinuation of GINCODE
To facilitate goods exchanges between the textile chain and trade, an alphanumeric code known as GINCODE was often used before or at the beginning of the electronic age.
Because of the changed technological possibilities for the reproduction of symbols and the extension of care labelling (natural drying) as part of the standardisation process, the decision has been taken to leave GINCODE in its present form without further updates.
The use of this coding system is therefore to be discontinued gradually over the next two years.
